Holy! Holy! Holy! is the LORD of Hosts

Isaiah 6:1-5 The Seraphim do not walk or stand in the immediate vicinity of the Holy one in His temple, for they have been created with two wings by which they hover and fly while in His presence. They cannot bear to look at His majesty, for God has endowed them with two wings by which they cover their faces and two wings to cover their feet. Their whole being is covered, lest any part be exposed to His marvelous light. These extraordinary creatures confess what every human ought to: “Holy! Holy! Holy! Is YAHWEH of Hosts! The whole earth is full of His Glory!”

For this is the tri-une Holy God YAHWEH! Isaiah beholds His majesty through the dense fog which fills the room and through the train of His righteous robe which fills the temple. He is high and lifted up, seated upon His throne surrounded by the holy angels who are spotless and unstained by sin. And if these angels who are themselves unmarked with sin, how unfathomable it is to comprehend the Holiness of Him who has created them. If the angelic creatures must be adorned with such coverings prohibiting them from looking upon the true image of His glory, how much more must wretched man be covered in order to live! (Exodus 33:20) (Jn 6:46 no one has seen the Father except the Son who is from God).

The prophet glances upon the Holiness of God through the impediments, only because His sins have been atoned for. His sins have been imputed to Christ and the imputed righteousness of Christ has clothed him, for he has not been created with any internal/external coverings by which he may approach the throne of Glory. He has no righteousness of his own to draw near to the Ancient of Days. He is justified by faith alone, in Messiah alone! Rom 3:20 “For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight.” The Holiness of God overtakes the prophet as he confesses his sinful state,”Woe is me! For I am undone”(Isa 6:5).

Christ lays down His life as the substitute for the believing sinner, thereby sanctifying and cleansing him from all unrighteousness to present to Himself a glorious church without spot or wrinkle for the purpose of setting it before Him holy without blemish! Eph 5:25-27

Creator and preserver of all things,
Dawn-to-dark cycle by your word,
The cosmos proclaims thy glory;

But I, a creature of your handy work
begotten by thy omnipotent power,
have acted out in disobedience to your divine law,
have departed in behavior from your standard of uprightness,
have failed to emit a pious heart to the King of Kings

Free me from
carnal inclinations
the pride of life
the snare of the wicked one

Heal me of my infirmity- the slavery of sin;
My deficiency, frailty, disease and disorder
remove the chains of bondage which enslaves my existence

Oh vile man that I am,
Every thought is bent against thee, defiled soul, furnished with corruption, filled with every unclean fancy, debase of virtue, woe is me, for I am undone!
